ART Is O Lation
Each day is different when it comes to my mood. I choose artists and artworks that can express how I feel, the memories and thoughts that are part of the day. It is my visual diary filled colours, dances, songs, poetry, and lots of humour. These images were taken with my Samsung phone on selfie mode for 10 seconds. I used Bixby, a voice activated program, to take the photo. Sometimes Bixby would freeze while I was pinned to the background. There was no preparation for most of the recreations, except for those that I need it to make the props like the dresses, fascinators, clay dolls, jewellery, etc...
I transformed everything that I have in the house. At some point my husband had no more white undershirts. I used lots of paper that I had prior to isolation from teaching art and theatre. All videos were improvised. Most of the songs, I had to read since I did not know the lyrics. The songs were selected according to my mood, and how I related to the artwork, character, etc. I lived those 2 and a half years in pure artful madness. It was a healthy drug. I was in harmony with the moment and my soul. A few times when my husband came home, he did not recognised me. He actually panicked. It was funny. He was in shock, as to how I was able to transform myself by just using water, flour, toilette paper, and colours. I decided to print the recreations in watercolour paper. My transformation happened like when colours are mixed with water, forming gaps from one shape to another. I can't print them on a canvas because these are not paintings, nor in photo paper, because it is not a memory. These images are primitive, and also transparent as to how I felt...Light as a moving cloud. Also, I created over 600 interpretations. Each print is signed and numbered.
