"Rear Window " The Opera
It is Friday. I am hyper. I am on a row doing Getty' s game of having mad fun. Props here. Props there. I live in Italy. Who cares? life is an opera. I forgot who said it, or if someone did, was it in a song? But in Italy that's for sure. Already my neighbors think I am mad, because I love to talk to my plants, and love to sing to the bats in a cool summer night. I even told them, I have no problems with ants, since I have a chat when Spring starts as to they have a fruitful garden, and Marco is in the kitchen most of the time. I said it in simple way, a palm squash by a stressed Italian is not like having my ant repellent made with citrus peel. And so today, for sure I shocked them. What is she doing now? Madness - Mad fun with art
Hello my subjects
God save the planet! #todayI decided to do Lucien Freud's famous portrait of Queen Elisabeth. Too darn hot
Do you know the lyrics of Cole Porter's Too darn hot? Haha with layers of paper and paper and winter underwear, it's too darn hot. My Nanas were so much fun! And when I was taking many selfies, the camera would finished in my mom's album...So magical!!! haha She used to dress up as well! Ask my cousins. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Voice
Enjoying my Mujer Colombiana by Fernando Botero before I move on to the next one Voice
Estas son las mañanitas que cantaba el Rey David. Quien tiene cumpleaños hoy? Que será será
What will be tomorrow after all these days? Happy Easter my beautiful family and friends! Shed the old and embrace the new. kisses. One way or another
I love Debbie Harry when I was a teenager, and I loved this song. Still I do. I love her. Today I feel like one way or another. I think it is just perfect for my 35 day in isolation. I am going to rebel. I am going to scream. I am going to dance with my sparkling Feeling Joyks by Joyks.I am going to sing. I am going now to have breakfast. And l am going to enjoy my pink face, done with my beautiful Shiny cosmetics! After all it is "My Life". "My Choice". Changes
In the mood to dance with Rosy and Lucy, my ladies dancers for self portrait / painting by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. In the mood for Cabaret! I hope I can find the film in Italy not dubbed!!! That's a change! But I haven't been able to get used to it...dubbed movies... The first time I went to the movies in Pisa, it was a film with Clint Eastwood, and I fell asleep. I was so out of it that at some point I was like "shoot" he speaks Italian. But then I whispered the melody of his spaghetti western films, but I was too sleepy to make sense of it. Changes are weird too... As a matter of fact
MONEYYYYYY It is Friday
This is for you mom! As I told you in the past, mom and I continue to meet on Fridays. She is so much fun. I love her so much and she knows it. I told my sister and my friend Claudia that I was anxious last night. A strange feeling. Usually before I fall asleep I have some chats with the power in my life, and thank my day, my a relationships, the joy that I have from my family and friends, for its guidance, etc. Still I felt anxious... While I was sleeping I woke up anxious again, but then somehow, I felt calm, closed my eyes, and I had a beautiful dream ( you know all about my strange and wild dreams) I dreamt that I was telling my mom I was worried about something in the house. She extends her arm pointing at someone, and is my dad! My dad takes me all around the house, and it shows me my dog? Congo? My dog was huge and looked like a lion. Everyone was scared of our dog. But it was trained to protect our home. Anyway my dad shows me this dog/lion and he tells me I am protected. I woke up so happy. This is why I say Fridays are magical to me. Open your heart! In a bit I will be drinking prosecco. Neutral ?
Today Saturday is dressed in grey. However as melancholic as it sounds, I love black and white because it can create an amazing array of greys giving mood to anything. There is nothing of an in between in grey. To the contrary, it separates. It puts a different kind of note or mood Just see me tango with my guy. Uff Marco has competition 🤐😁 Neutral ?
Kees Van Dongen 's Marchesa Luisa Casati going wild before going to sleep Thank you
My video did not posted correctly in IGTV So here it is in the format I wanted to post it. Before crashing on my bed, I had to teach the girls an important lesson. I am posting this video this morning day 42 - Thank you Linda @lindasackin great advice for my stiff neck. I woke up feeling way better. And I will continue to do the exercises until 101% I feel food oh so good. I had amazing dreams last night, that remind it me of two artists, but not sure if I will do today since I have to search around my home for props. During lockdown the house is upside down and my closet is out. Everything is alive playing with me. Thank you
Liberation! For her it was a mine. And Clementine need it Joyks @feeling_joyks Now since this 42 day is a Thank you day, I want to thank the toilet paper industry. I could have never thought that tp was recyclable! I have used for so many photos during isolation. Like here is part of my ruffles. Of course, there is some complaining at home because the sheets are not pressed perfectly... But really... would it know the difference ???? Lol Goddesses
Last night I finished with Coby Whitmore ' Too young to be trouble. Therefore, I decided then to dedicate day 44 to the #goddess in each of us. This is why I am posting this video today rather than yesterday so I can then introduce my beautiful, unique, ladies, some of them became art. Beauty is painful
Last night when doing my after shot videos, It took me over a minute to take everything off. Haha! Marco enjoyed the fun. He said " Thanks God for your joy" ahh sooo sweet. This was supposed to be one shot video but I had to dobthe second part after I took off my gorgeous hat! Goddesses: 2nd day
Fashion can Kill you! Yeap she was almost electrocuted with this outfit. I have to tell you mine was also plugged, and thoughts of me getting an electric shock crossed my mind. I looked at the lightbulbs that none of them were missing. And with my foil paper crown and back, I would have probably bbq in a few minutes, and my smell would probably have made our neighbors whispered "wow what a meal Marco is having tonight". But hello everything for fashion. And a great Met Gala dress to wear ! Poetry/ 47 day - Holiness
Last night I finished my poetry series 46 day - Poetry with this video and it will open day 47 - Holiness with it. My days are filled with dreams of the sea. It is my mother's womb, I can hear her song. If I cry, can I save my salty tears to bring to you? Mother. The days are as usual... I belong to the moment. It is ecstasy. It is us. Sublime gift of being me. Chagall
A day at the circus Tickets sold out for this season. Please book for May 2020. Poetry
My Paul Klee's Descending Angel which I created it on day 50 - Angels l, but had no time to post it since my husband wanted me to make a video with all my prior posts. While living in Switzerland, I involved my friends Camille and Valentina. Then in France Elisabeth, in USA JP and Sarah, and Irene, and in Colombia my mom, sister, and Marina. And I guess it was meant to be. Because the story about my wire Angels became poetry when in the Angels'site people that found them sent beautiful emails. Angels charged with loving energy to brighten the day if anyone that found them. Poetry
Last night before taking off my Leonor Fini's painting outfit, I decided to read a #poem by #pabloneruda to introduce today's theme #poetry Also because yesterday's light and this character reminded me of Orlando ( movie). Maria Eugenia
I just finished doing #Chagall #bridewith two #faces. Since today is Friday, and my mom kept her promise to continue to meet nit matter what, and I am a #believer that #everythingispossible She comes to have fun, and to continue to be my muse. I love you mom. Allergies
An itchy day but I don't care! I love flowers! I love colours and fragrance! 56 day - 2nd phase
Posting on my 57 day. I will continue my isolated journey since I can't do the things I love like visiting musems, cities, the sea, and picnics in the middle of a forest. I don't know when our theater group will neet again, as well as our art group which usually met at my home. I don't mind waiting because it is important for everyone to be safe, and for our planet to be free from our hurtful invasions. I love mother Earth! Am I?
Another cooking lesson! I couldn't remember the name of the town where I had eel since I improv. lol Whatever comes to my head. Comacchio is where I had the most delicious eel. If ever visiting that area go for it! Light
A bit of fun before falling asleep. Posting on day 60 ! We are on the 5th day of 2nd phase (?) Not too many changes for me. Is not like I can go to the pool or to museums or the therme...But it is Friday! And I love Fridays! It is a sunny warm day! This morning I am going to give water to my plants and have a conversation with nature! It feels like Summer
Last night Marco and I had a lovely evening with a nice bottle of red wine from #tuscany #bruciato. Anyway, I love #vintage. I was lucky to have many accessories and clothes from my mom and grandmother, which Emma has most of it. Like mother like daughter ❤ I have a phase 3 proposal! Glamour in our lives with tons of humor ! Funky gloves and masks! If you haven't watched a film with #joannewoodwardand #paulnewman #anewkindofloveyou should! the hairstyles 😁 and clothes! Here dressed as obe of #aliceneel drawings. Feminine Energy
1.Women against women Yesterday I did this painting by George Lambert The White Glove. Her expression could tell me many stories. She is bored. She is spoiled. She doesn't care She is pretentious. She is gossiping. Etc. It is about our personal perception. How we tend to label a person's look, life, choices fron where we stand. It reminded me of many moments where actually I listen to other women be so mean and nasty to others. They don't realise that by doing so, others can see their imperfections and their lack of confidence. A day like today, is not about congratulations for pushing a baby out of our bodies, but about nurture, encouragement, tolerance, kindness, and honesty. It is about respect and empathy. Be the seed and the caregiver. Evolve! Grow! Be generous and genuine. Feminine Energy
Dress to impress femme fatale (by Kees van Dongen) Colombian chef teaches you how to make a simple apple onion and roquefort tart. Allure
Oh well red on feathers and Sweet Cooking! Everyone keep asking me about my props! I use every item I have at home. Is not like we are having guests over during this period so the house is my artdom! I also use paper and pieces of fabric. Temptation

Lady in Yellow dress by #maxkurzweiland my modern interpretation "Ethel in her yellow dress" Also getting ready to try a new voice/ intonation to Mrs. Cini. I also took the exact same pose but with my cumbia skirt. Soul and Glory
70 day Soul and Glory Homage to the 70s!! Here is my take on Pam Grier's Foxy Brown. If you don't know who she is or seen the movies watch some clips in YouTube. This is my version of one if the clips I watched yesterday morning. 😁😁😁😳😳😳 Marco was like " wow strong ". This morning he looks at my final result, when the guy shows up, he says who is that???? Marco is ME ! I replied. Where was I? He asks me. You were cleaning the garden/patio, I replied. 😂😂😂 He said " you look so different" Mission Accomplished! Oh woe another great idea but with the tv series cast. Also today I can go out but I will stay at gome as much as I can. I will wait until we can go to the sea! Therapy
Now that we are on phase 3, how many felt " isolated from their partners' emotions " " alone " " ignored " lol My best therapy is my art, dance, theatre, music, and oysters with champagne. Day 83 - Thank you
To all my friends in Instagram " Thank you " I love seeing your post " Every day I am so excited to see your creative self expressing what you love. To my new friends here " wow" So much talent! And the creativity is just amazing To my beautiful lady friends please look at @ecokookychic @lindasackin @solainecontact @abfabfoto Day 87 - Phase 3 by the sea
Possessed by Dali's imagination. I am spending phase 3 submerge in nature. It is my emotional, spiritual, and mental recharge. It cleans my energy from negativity. It keeps me in balance and harmony. When I am at the sea, I pray for love and peace. You should do it! Also I draw reiki symbols in the water. Change is evolution. #art #openmind #nature #gettymuseumchallenge #betweenartandquarantine @gettymuseum #tussenkunstenquarantaine#recreatefamouspainting#artatthebeach #videos #shortclips Day 89 - White shirt as Audrey but hello!!! I am cooking not like Holly but more like me! Yes ! I am making ossobuco as the main dish.
And for appetizer duck breast with balsamic and sour cherries ( my neighbor's fruits) sauce. My cooking is inspired by my ingredients. No rush but fun. Just imagine a husband, boyfriend, lover rushing..ahhhh ... yeap...Now you understand! The act of creation takes time. I invite you to pay attention. Click here to editDay 91 - Pose
She was 15 and she was very sweet. She was the official model for CK jeans. I loved the commercial! And some were censored by hypocrisy. One of her more scandalous phrases "Do you know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing". lol And people were shocked! Probably some of them hid their violence with words as " outrageous " " indecent " etc I can't stand the hypocrisy that exists in our society. Anyway she would do tons of yoga poses as she read or talked about genes/jeans, added numbers etc. 😁🤩 #tussenkunstenquarantaine #betweenartandquarantine. Day 95 - Cooking marathon
Today I made for lunch a zucchini flower schiacciata !!! This one is only made with flour and water, then I added the onions and pieces of zucchini flower, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Marco loved it! I passed the Italian cordone ombelicale test! Oh yes! Nothing like mamma's cooking. Day 97 - Sweat it baby

This painting appeared in the cover of Life magazine ( March 28, 1960).
He became the favourite artist among socialites and famous people. He became famous in 1913 by a large nude of his wife. It was considered so carnal and erotic that the police removed it. Inspired by Bang Bang Nancy Sinatra
Back to my favourite shoe fetish ladies by Ida Applebroog "Shoe series". I dont own yellow high heels. How did I miss that one? I do have yellow mocassins, sneakers, boots, and each of them made by my favourite Italian brand Joyks!
My mom owned a beautiful pair of yellow low heel flats with a tortoise like buckle in the front. So beautiful. I used to wear them while playing with my sister "friends" we had role playing games.l Sometimes we played "Ladies", "Mothers", etc and we will talk about the issues that we thought it was of importance to the roles we were playing. Yellow is also my mom's colour. I have a few dresses in that color. When I was 19 yo, I used to borrow from her a silk one that was a shirt style with a loose waist. It was so elegant. The Importance of High heels.
If you are going for the kill, dress the part. Stand tall even if it requires to walk with those nordic walking sticks. Who knows if it might become an useful tool to defend from unwelcome situations. kill Bill can be a way to learn how to use anything that looks like a sword. I have so much fun with the amazing works of Ida Applebroog. It is a challenge! The makeup takes a while, and let's not forget how I try to do my selfies with lousy ligh, and moody Bixby that tells me out of the blue something is wrong (?). Oh well! It's beginning to look like Christmas, and many men would love to own an elf to keep their home sparkling clean. Just ask any Italian family. It is the engine on cleaning. My husband loves it. And he is not the only one. How to make a woman happy? By collaborating with dreadful chores. When the lady comes to clean, it is Marco that explains to her how to use it. Before lockdown, she put to much soap, and it stopped. Her face was pale! She came to me, and she said oh no I broke his folletto! So I asked her what happened, but she couldn't bring herself to tell me she put too much liquid which I figured it out, so I grabbed my blow drier, and the problem was solved. We laughed while we drank fresh squeezed OJ
I love bubbles! All kinds! I miss jumping in the waves, and the sea foam when I am walking close to the water. If there was no Pandemic, we will probably be in Saturnia or any other natural hot springs.
As per Dali, we are entwined in the universe of possibilities. We are for sure twin souls. In my teens I loved him,.and still do. What a bubbling swim I had today! I thank today's salad for pretending to be an algae! #salvadordali #surrealism #artistherapy#gettymuseumchallenge @gettymuseum#betweenartandquarantine#tussenkunstenquarantaine#recreatefamousphotos #dali #spanishpainter#bubble #sea #sealover #seaindecember#isolation #quarantine #colombianartist#bubblewrap #artistaespañol #fotos #blancoynegro#blackandwhite #photography #surrealismo#surreal #dalimuseum @dalimuseum Sourire à la vie ! In 1971 Joséphine Baker sang in a Norwegian tv show.
She was an amazing and smart performer, activist, and a generous soul that had such a persona..She really shined! Now I changed some of the words for this song to go with the banana skirt. Now I also did a post with an actual photo of her and I dance the Charleston as well. P.S. I eat three bananas a day! I make every morning my banana shake with ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, and I add sometimes my vitamins since I hate to swallow pills. Santa Baby
I was going to do a photograph of Eartha Kitt after I did my tree photograph, but I got stuck in my dress. I also finished my doll, and I wanted to do the photograph as well. So I just sang a few songs with my vintage sequin dress. I pulled some muscle while twisting like an s to unhook it. My sinus are really bad today and I can't hear well from my congestion. The weather in Pisa doesn't help. Ih well. As per the song, it is so 50s,/60s I don't want a fur unless is fake. Nor I care for a car. But Tiffany's? Well yes! I just love Tiffany's. Well, I love prosecco and champagne. And not sure who is the artist of this poster, here is my take on it!
For sure it has been the most difficult selfie so far. I was alone at home which was good because otherwise Marco would have been worried of me sitting on a tiny glass garden table. Moments like this I really dislike Bixby. She chooses to tell me crazy stuff. Maybe the sound of the cellophane got her off or it could be she realized that she would never be able to experience bubbles. Happy New Year to my family and friends. Be safe and enjoy your now. Love Ethel |
I just finished doing Frida kahlo' s painting for the challenge. Here with my painting "YO" 2003
Let the Angels play.
Remedios Varo is one of my favourite surrealist artist. I just love her. Since today is the 27th day of my lockdown, I chose her because of the mystical nature of her works. In numerology the number 27 is about compassion, tolerance, collaboration, but mostly to see humanity better than we are now. And if you add the is number 9 which is universal lov, eternity, faith, spiritual enlighten, etc Also today we will have the help of Angelic forces to help us to heal our home, meaning our planet and our bodies. 30 th day - Women
My Ida Applebroog "Fancy shoes" series. Oh I know you want to wear some high heels right now! I do! I just want to have so prosecco so I am ok. Hmm Maybe on Friday I shall design a dress inspired by her drawings. My quarantine is rather mad fun when dressing up for it. This is me
I feel pretty oh so pretty. Exploring identity through artworks. My Fancy Shoes Series inspired by the amazing work of Ida Applebroog. Voice
I am an artist. Hear me roar! My take on Obregon's self portrait. Break time
As I was going to do a self portrait of Max Beckmann in his tuxedo, I just decided to take a break before taking off my previous props. So yeah... A bit of Cabaret.. A bit of his times... And no I do not know Mein Herr... lol. And I also just gave myself a haircut too Spiderweb Eyelashes
Do you believe her? Why should I. She is a woman. I know you. You want to get her. You are a fool. You actually believe your shit. I knew you are just as I thought. The clock is ticking oxygen out of your being. SCREAM your politeness out of your brand-name suit. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is the Gospel hour. The glass broke - like an expanding universe. It was empty. Nothing to clean. All memories untraceable. In confidence I die. Another day to be alive. The flower is there. The bee suffocates her. Fragmented ideals/ In prudence the castle crumbled. There was no sage to be found. In the air the coin is lost. Flying wings rescued the soul. The mind is too dark to see the light. The four corners has no walls. The cloak is open the dagger is red. I happen to have a noble name. It is a good thing she knows how to fly. Yesterday I saw her passing by my window. I could see her face as she twirled in the air as if suspended by rice paper kites. Maybe she was. It reminded me of a picture I saw in anatomy class… The child suspended by trust? Good morning this is unknown place news: Today an AlphAngel announced the birth of a new play. The death of Judas. Alleluia! A new sunrise dresses the innocent. Time
I made this video on my 6th day of being at home during lockdown. Challenge
My dance for Georgia' s paintings. I enjoyed dancing her colors and strokes. See you tomorrow ! It is Friday Yippy
Lets start with Manet, and lets see where the day takes me too. After all it is Friday. Friday night
Before going to sleep, Marco had a performance 😁😍. He loves to watch me dance and sing. Thou I have forgotten myst of the lyrics of all the songs I used to know..... ahhhhhh so I just say what pops from my head.lol He says I am his Sunday girl. And he refers it to some Italian commercial of a tiny pizza that their slogan was " eating this snack everyday, it feels like Sunday". I am glad because when we have a discussion in three languages, is like an opera! pure art in living with passion.😂😂😂. Neutral
Haha this painting reminded me of the Lady in Red? Woman in Red ? Shoot! I don't remember... But she was dressed in red. And so this song popped in my head since I have a 80s red telephone. Here is my oscar winning version! The Isolation reds. Lazy day
Pay attention ! The beach belongs to everyone! If the private ones are open, well, the public ones MUST be open as well. That's what I say! Max Beckmann self video Early Intermission
Another super windy day. I am trying to decide which artist to do today. Marco is busy with exams so I have to be shhhhhh. Enjoy my take on 007 and thank you hubby for playing in the piano the JB theme. This is my take on handsome Roger Moore. When I was a kid, I love Tony Curtis and Moore in The Persuaders. They were so funny. Thank you
This afternoon when I was filming my improvised dance, I decided to dedicate it to mother nature because the weather was very stormy ( you can hear the wind ) My dance was for her. I voiced her pain and let the wind influenced my movements just like Isadora Duncan did with the sea. My thank you is for our mother Earth. She houses us and gives so much. She is beauty. Because of her, writers, poets, composers, painters, dreamers, create more beauty. She is the answer and the solution for many of our problems. I love you Mother Earth. Thank you for your gifts. The guide to love during quarantine. Brought to you by the nostalgia of once upon a time. Inspired by the wonderful illustrations published in the Saturday Evening Post. Here is my Coby whitmore ' s look from The man who scorned xmas. Goddesses : 2nd day
Second part of my video. Here I am celebrating another #Goddess from the #70s Probably you know already just looking at my outfit. The song goes hand in hand because in the photograph Marchesa Luisa Casati was holding a crystal ball. She was into readings, and other stuff that Ibwill tell you later. I am still working on my setup for today's post 😁. Poetry
My everyday poetry is to listen to nature's music. I tune out noises by doing what I love, and that is creating, dancing, reading, and being in my personal Eden. My secret garden. Chagall
Oh well, It is Sunday... God rested because she is a woman. And men took it wrong since they like to take naps after battle or watch sports, or games or whatever... assuming God is a guy just like them. And since then, that tiny misunderstanding, is the cause of... oh well, we like to call it multitasking... Anyway just having mad fun. Lol Memories
Basquiat's Fallen Angel was done on day 50 - Angels. As I told you, I will be telling you the story about my Angels. Also, I want to share a meditation that I do since I was young. It is a personal exercise that gives me joy. This morning Marco says to me, "I can see this morning you are floating" "Where are you?" I just look at him. I was dwelling in my memories of when I am swimming in the sea, being part of nature. I will post some comparisons between my mother and I done last year. Poetry
Inspired by Bernard Buffet's painting. And this is one of my grandmother's recipes. Easy and yummy. I have one of her cookbooks #doñapetrona, as well as some of her notes. She gave it to me because neither of her daughters liked to cook. Lucky me! Fashionista
I decided that everytime I do an artwork where there is food or a kitchen item, I will do my Colombian chef 😁😁 And since my first chef video was my wood rooster... so yeah...lol Allergies
My Ida Applebroog' s artwork improv. Pollen is in the air let love dance with the bees and flowers. I am on my 56 day of Isolation! Hello madness stay with me until the next full moon. 2nd phase - 2nd day
I have Barry White! So yeah! Light
Well just a bit of sarcasm... This is my 2021 Met Gala dress! Theme for 2021 Masks
Oh well.. It is Friday and now is almost 6 pm. Waiting for martini hour before I di the next one! What is next
Kees van Dongen's painting screamed for this song which I always dislike, in particular men grow cold as girls grow old, and reminded me when I was a little girl and I heard conversations about how men got better with age and women did not. I used to fight this argument a lot and when I saw someone that was old, I would say to my family but there is nothing interesting about that person! Wow women really had to put up with a lot of nonsense! But karma is sweet 😁 unless of course if the guy is Paul Newman or Obama but their ladies ROCK! They are beautiful and intelligent. And on a hot day like today I wore a wool blanket wrapped as a burrito. Temptation
And today you can cook at home brutti ma buoni "biscoti" "cookies" No flour no butter! 2 egg whites room temp, pinch of salt, 150 grams of sugar, and 150 grams of chopped hazelnuts. pre heated oven 150 c or 300 f Make sure is a glass or metal bowl free from grease! And att when separating egg whites from yolk! If a bit gets into the whites it will not work! Beat egg whites with sugar adding a small amount at a time and beating until you get stiif peaks. Then gradually add the hazelnuts and blend well put in a sauce pan and cook in medium heat mixing it until get a golden color. In a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper use a tablespoon to shape cookies. bake for 20 min. Soooo yummy! Last night fun
Last night I had to do her song! I love Shakira! Of course my posts are about having fun. I am not a singer but I sing anyway. I do whatever my soul wants me to express. My life is like a dish. I put in it what makes me healthy and happy. And well since I am Colombian, and we do love to dance, and when I was studying modern dance the teacher would tell me to stop moving my hips but then my shoulders would move and so on.... lol. As per shopping or going to the saloon, I am not venturing out until I understand what's really going on. Black and white Blue Angel "Falling in love again"
Funny Ibam married to a professor and my grandmother's name was Lola 😳. I love old movies. I did not know this song. I started to listen to it this morning over and over trying to remember the third verse when the melody changes. And actually my pitch ( trying to imitate Dietrich ) came out better on my first try but the third verse was so off. Lol. So this was my second shot. Mom Friday
75 day and is Friday. My tapping day from this carnal world to the one made of love. Yesterday afternoon I felt this beautiful energy when remaking the woodcut Mother with one eye snd child by Max Pechstein a German expressionist artist that became a member of die brücke group founded by architects, and later on expelled from it. Right you are - If you think so
Its been a Pirandello morning, but I relaxed this afternoon with Pam Grier. I was hot in my jumpsuit. ahhh. My husband said to me " if I did not know you, I would have thought you were on drugs" "You are way too happy" "Don't you miss going out?" haha He bombarded me with questions. But he knows that I get lost in my world. I paint, listen to music, dance by myself, and have mad fun with my recreations. I feel safe and comfortable in my world. There is peace and magic. He probably was in shock because when he called me this afternoon, I was two different characters. I made myself look like an older woman for Mrs. Cini, and I was a dancing queen with my Pam Grier outfit...that's why I was saw hot. Bis
I think I know why I am multi-faceted in this life experience... because I have not changed. I love too many things that I am unable to concentrate in just one. Like when I listen to Maria Callas, and I think wow I wish I could sing like her. And this goes on any thing that is artistic related. But then again this is my fortune. I dwell on their talent. It is a soul drug. Ruby's Tuesday
Lovesick man screams violence. A painting by George Grosz, a German American artist. I used some of Callas' red dress for the house, pot, etc. I am wearing my Gap linen blazer from 1994. I love this blazer. I love the color too. In the table there is an empty bottle of Absinthe. We drank it while living in Switzerland with our friends. It was a gift from them. We did the sugar cube with liquor with some fire on it... But we did not travel. lol. As per me being nice? I am. But detest to be used. Marco asks me in which list is such person? lol I just say the one I have no time for nonsense. BTW, Colombians are very friendly! The White Shirt
I don't know about you but when I drink, the next morning my eyes are so puffy like when I have an allergic reaction. Holly Golightly is a party girl. Not like Mary from Party Gir Two different ways of partying. One wants to find a rich husband and the other one refuses to grow up. I love both movies. Hmm. I have to do one of Parker Posey. Well, BB was a sexy chick! Not sure why the term chick to refer to a woman. But I find it to be scary term. Since poor chicks finish in the oven. Today your Colombian chef with Julia Child as alter ego pretending to be Brigitte Bardot in the kitchen. Anyway, here is my on the moment stuffed chicken with whatever I find in the kitchen. My easy one dish dinner. I always marinate poultry with cognac or brandy ( my dad and grandma used to do that ) it makes the meat tender; salt and pepper. I usually do it the day before ( turnkey 2 days before). But yesterday for a few hours. I chopped yams, onions, parsley, grated ginger, mixed together, add olive oil, spices such as rose/pink peppercorns, bkack pepper, one small hot dried red pepper, a mix of dried flowers, violets, salt, and toasted almonds. My oven was already hot at 200 c. I reduced the temperature to 165 c and cooked for an hour or until internal temperature reaches 165. That's it ! Easy, healthy, and yummy! #bb #brigittebardot #cookingshow#phase3 #betweenartandquarantine#tussenkunstenquarantaine #marmiton# juliachild #colombianchef #iamanartist #creative #kitchen #cooking #chicken #yams #spices #video #artperformance Click Day 101 - I got sunshine
I love it when I put in make up and play the part. I don't see myself but the other self expressing through me. Inspired by face on yellow background by Joy Hester. #video #artperformance #performance#joyhester #tussenkunstenquarantaine #recreatefamouspainting #betweenartandquarantine #phase3 #italy #tuscany #pisa #arte#australianmodernism #angrypenguin It is all about the boots. Mine are Joyks. Mine are same style but different colors that I found in boxes in the factory's storeroom. I paired the lonesome ones with my creative input. I am in the mood for "lot of livin" from bye bye Birdie
That's why the lady is a Puffmutter.
Puffmutter by Otto Dix doesn't need translation. A German expressionist artist that moved through styles such as Realism, Dadaism, etc lived through two wars, volunteering during WW1. He was greatly affected by the horrors of war which is depicted in his works. He frequented brothels, taking visual note of its visitors, and the mood by his use of colors and grotesque style. A nonverbal satire of his time. When the Nazi's took over,.his work was considered degenerate. We have to remember that a controlling government gives no space to satire or criticism of what's happening. I don't know why this photo reminds me of Vanity Fair's cover of Demi Moore while pregnant. The white sheet glamour.
A true fashionista knows the art of dressing up with a white sheet. Just ask Holly. A while back while looking for information about Lilith, I found this vintage photograph, and unfortunately I couldn't find the name of the photographer. I saved the photograph for future use. Today while doing a picture of Duchess of Windsor wearing a White sheet style dress, I remember this one. So glad of my #IKEA snake. As per snakes, Niki de St. Phalle and I had an encounter with a snake when we had the same age. We also share same birthday. Who loves Alfred Hitchcock's films? I love them all of them. I can watch them over and over.
Today I was watching bits of Vertigo. This is a costume sketch for Kim Novack in Vertigo by Edith Head. I love the dresses of that period. Women dressed so elegant. Of course is not practical to go to work with a pencil skirt and pointed pumps. It deforms the feet. Fashion can kill sometimes. So many ideals to achieve the perfect look and beauty of the time. Now we are more free when it comes to clothes, make up, animal free, poison free, etc. As per my dress is falling apart but I am going to alter it and give it a new look. When I am falling apart, I center myself and become aware of my connection with creation. We are so beautiful and perfect. Each of us, if we listen to our internal voice, we become a gift, a creator, a liberator Death Becomes Her.
Do you remember that hilarious movie with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn? Well Otto Dix'' Widow reminds me of these two ladies in the last scene when they are at the funeral of their love. Funny how black was a colour only for the clergy, non pretentious, that transformed into the femme fatale look. The meaning of color in fashion through out the years is just fascinating. Also the etiquette of fashion, like example the veil, brides in white became fashionable by Queen Victoria, thou in the past widows wore white, purple and gray, and affluent brides wore red since it was an expensive color. Black veil for the widow, as to hide her grief, and a period of darkness ( no joy), like the famous photograph of Jackie Kennedy in mourning. A separation between her and the rest of the world. Let me introduce you to Yvette Guilbert by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec. He was part of the night scene in Paris, then again what respectable artist wasn't. He spent his time depicting the night stars from the cabarets and theatres. In this drawing, you can see her greeting her public.
Yesterday I found recordings of her singing various songs. She had a high pitch voice. I will be posting a video where I try to imitate her voice in La Femme. It was a last minute video, not knowing the song, I listened and sang along her various times to kind of get the sense of it. Now Marco has it in his head 😂😂. I am planning to learn Madame Arthur! And I have to look at more of her photos as well as drawings of her This is Juliette Gréco, actress and singer depicted by French painter Robert Humblot. He comes from.a family of artists. His paternal great grandfather was a master engraver for the King's cabinet and one of the designers of King louis XV.
As per Juliette did you know that the song Michelle was inspired by her and the Parisian Left Bank culture. Now my feline friend is actually a snake pretending to be a feline. Here is my Charleston dance with my banana skirt danced by Josephine Baker in the 20s in Europe.
Another cool fact about her,.when France was invaded by the nazi's, she served as a spy for the French resistance. Also she made movies as the leading lady, not like in America where roles to blacks were service or funny looking people. I am so glad she escaped the tyranny and ignorance of America. Finally I was able.to watch I.am not your negro, by James Baldwin he said "The world is not white. It never was white, cannot be white. White is a metaphor for power, and that is simply a way of describing Chase Manhattan Bank" ,.and "The story of the Negro in America is the story of America, and it is not a pretty story". I am wearing my brown tights and turtleneck because I recreated the famous poster by Paul Colin. If I would have changed, bye bye banana skirt. The bananas were falling apart! I could have made it with paper but I eat three bananas a day. Lila Lee was an American actress from the 20s. She was very famous, and was the leading lady in many of her films.
This is a photo of her holding a strange looking doll which I love, and try to make one from clay and wires, and her suit is made from one of Marco's Armani suit when he was in his twenties. Already my sister claimed it as her property. |
